Everything is bathed in white in this landscape where the light of noon invades heaven and earth.The high celestial vault, suggesting spatial depths, arches downward over the rural scene seen in its essence. A central triangle concentrates the cart with oxen, the peasant, the well with the draw beam, the house in the background. The long strokes, typical for Grigorescu, interweave this image with impeccable pictorial expressiveness.
